It was a great experience going to this hotel. The view of the Horseshoe Falls right from our room were better than from any place else in the world. The rooms were new, very clean, the service was excellent, the staff very corteous and helpfull, everything was available and they have the best and most comfortable beds I ever slept in, as well as the best stocked and ample bathrooms in any hotel.
We were greeted the first morning with a terrific full american breakfast delivered by the room service staff. This was all served in china, and no plastic, carton or disposable items. The food incredibly tasty.
Their pool was very good too.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting Niagara Falls. I cannot wait to go back again. I would love to try it in the winter time next.

We stayed at the Falls View for one night as part of our honeymoon. Our bedroom was perfect - roomy, a large comfy bed and the most spectacular clear and uninterrupted view of the Falls. The restaurant was over priced and the food average, so beware the flowry descrptions in the menu. Reception staff & concierge were polite, but the barman (at half an hour before drinking up time) was unbelievably rude and unwelcoming.
Our recommendation - do try this hotel; you will not find a better view of the Falls. But eat and drink elsewhere - you'll have plenty of choice in Niagara Falls.

The view from our 2 bedroom apartment was stunning. The room was great, luxurious bedding/linen, soft thick towels in the bathroom, comfy bed and couches, 2 TV's with playstation, good minibar selection (though was a little expensive), newspaper delivered in the morning. The staff were polite, courteous and very helpful in terms of giving local directions etc..., valet parking was handy parking albeit a little expensive

The service was exceptional! Room service was fast and friendly, and the food was tasty. The room was spotless. The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed we have ever felt. The jacuzzi was great. The rooms are decorated nicely. I couldn't have asked for a better view of the falls.
I will return year after year to this hotel.

The Marriott was wonderful! We stayed in a junior presidential suite on the 9th floor. The view was awesome - the window is almost the entire wall! The room is large enough for a family of four (younger chlidren only - the sofa bed may not be large enough for older kids). The king bed was ultra comfortable and the 2 person whirlpool tub is incredible. There are french door separating the bedroom from the living area and it has curtains for privacy. The sofa bed was a little thin but we called for an extra blanket and comforter and they came within 5 minutes at almost midnight. You will need to pull the room-darkening drapes at night if you want to sleep in because it is extremely bright in the morning! There is no microwave or refrig so you will need snacks and a little cooler for drinks if you have kids. The buffet breakfast is the best!! Omelets, bacon, eggs, sausage, waffles, fresh fruit, cereals etc. It is valet parking and any time you need your car, you have to call and they will bring it to you (always within 10 minutes) so get everything you need from your car the first time! The hotel staff is the friendliest I have ever encountered, even my 11 yr old son was impressed. You can walk to TGIF, Outback Steakhouse and Pizza. The pool and whirlpool are great. Didn't get a chance to use the fitness center. Also, we had to move the check-in date 12 hours before check-in due to a family emergency. They were very accomodating and just pushed the reservation forward without any penalty or charges. My family and I loved the Marriott and highly recommend it to any family!

I have always been please with Marriott hotels because if something is amiss, you will be compensated for it. I booked a handicap room for my mother in this hotel. Due to guests staying in the room longer than expected we were placed in another room still handicap accessible but no walk-in shower. We were comped for part of the room costs, free parking, and breakfast. The next day we were given the room we had reserved. The views are amazing and all the hotel staff, front desk, bellmen, and room service are very nice and really go out of their way to make you happy.
This hotel has some of the best views of the falls and is very convient to the Canadian side of the falls and casino. My mother had a fantastic time and is already planning our next trip back there. We will be staying again at this hotel and looking forward to it!

From the moment we gave our keys to the valet to the moment we checked in, we received the royal treatment. First off we arrived at 12:00 noon which check in is at 2:00 and our room was ready. The receptionist was so nice and pleasant. Our room # was 1715 I bet you couldn't have had a better view than ours. The entire wall was the window. I was in awe with the view. My husband and I did our research so we was prepared for the $20.00 a night parking fee. If you can't afford this hotel than you shouldn't stay here maybe try a bestwestern or budget in. I thought the price was well worth it. The first night we ordered room service which came out to be $49.00 extra with the coupon. Which I don't think was bad because my husband had prime rib and I had the chicken stir fry. The food was pretty good for room service. The breakfast buffet was delicious and the waitress was so attentive. I have no complaints about this hotel. The beds I wish I could take home with me. I miss it already. Tip for couples- we brought our own bubble bath, wine, wineglasses, candles, and snacks.

My family stayed at the Marriott Hotel between Christmas and New Years and really enjoyed it.
We usually stay at The Oakes Hotel and quite enjoy it (see my review) but wanted to try somewhere different. After reading all the great reviews on this site, I thought I'd check out the prices.
The prices were very reasonable so I made reservations for a Deluxe Fallsview Rm with a fireplace.
We were not disappointed! Everyone was welcoming during our stay.
Adam (Front Desk Mgr. I believe) gave us a great room on the 19th floor (I had requested a higher floor). Other family members remarked that we probably wouldn't be able to see the falls from our room but were gobsmacked when lo and behold it was laid out before us.
Unfortunately the weather wasn't the greatest but we were still able to enjoy the fireworks that night and even some of the lighting displays.
I was most impressed with the room. It was large enough to accommodate 4 people without feeling cramped. The fireplace was a nice too, especially it being the Christmas holidays.
The beds were large and comfortable (nice douvet) and the pillows were the most comfortable I've slept on too.
LOVED the washroom. Lots of room and lots of towels.
The hotel itself was nicely decked out for the holidays with garland covered staircases and a Christmas tree. There were two poinsietta bushes by the front desk that were gorgeous.
Unfortunately I can't comment on the restaurant. We wanted to have breakfast at the hotel but there was such a line up we decided to go to TGIFridays. BIG mistake. The only good thing about it was our waiter who was very friendly.
Why is it that no matter where you go in NF the breakfast is always the price of a mortgage?! I wouldn't have minded paying more at the hotel or somewhere with atmosphere but Denny's, TGIFridays, etc?!NO.
The only downside would be that we had to wait 20 minutes for our car. It seemed everyone was leaving the hotel at the same time. The lobby was packed with people leaving waiting for their cars. They did, however, have quite a few guys who were doing their best to accommodate the overflow of departures. They clean your car for you (snow and ice) before you get in. I like those little touches!
Overall, great hotel. We will continue to stay at The Oakes in the summer (best price for a great view) but the Marriott is our winter getaway from now on.

Very nice place to stay, rooms very clean, spa and sauna very good, Only recommend rooms above 14th floor for best view of falls. The service is first rate, very helpfull staff.
DO NOT get the package. The breakfast buffet is over priced but is ok, nothing to rave over. The dining room is very nice but the food is staggeringly overpriced and can only be described as third rate. Go to any other restaurant close by for excellent meals at a fair price. The casino about 5 mins walk offers a great buffet-for dinner. Would I stay there again? yes.

The hotel was in a great location and the view from our room on the 14th floor was excellent. The hotel does not have a parking garage, valet parking only which is a pain if you forget something. Also, parking is $13 US. The package deal was definitely not worth it as far as the dinner voucher was concerned. Overpriced dinner, a little better than mediocre food and the $75 voucher didn't dent the bill too much. The breakfast was good. I would stay again but would opt for the cheapest room deal I could get and eat at any of the plethora of restaurants.

We chose this hotel after reading the excellent reviews in Trip Adviser. We booked two nights for our family of three. As soon as we arrived, reception tried to talk us into another type of room. We could only assume they were overbooked and handled it very poorly. As you might have expected for Niagara Falls, things were more expensive than you might otherwise expect. But $20 per night for Internet service and $3.00 for soda from a machine seemed a bit extreme (parking was $20 per night). At $275.00 per night we had a nice view of the falls although the room was on the small side. The hot water went off our first evening and was still off some 12 hours later. The front desk first tried convincing us that the problem was now fixed and we should just let the water run and it would get hot. When we informed them there was almost no water coming ot of the hot water spigot they offered us $100 of our room rate. About two hours later and still in search of a shower, we inquired about switching hotels and their response was "Checkout is by noon." I travel quite frequently for work and this was the poorest and least attentive service I have ever found at a Marriott.

I stayed at the Marriott from Nov. 19 - 21 with my husband. I can't say anything too different from the other reviews here. The view from the room was spectacular (see the picture which was taken from our window) and we are on the 15th floor. The whirlpool bath was very nice, but couldn't see the falls from the tub, as was represented on the website. We did get a "fireplace" with our room, which was a joke and NOT worth any extra money. I think the extra cost for the fireplace might have also included a higher floor. Keep in mind, the taxes are crazy here...when we got our hotel bill, it was about $60 - $80 Canadian more than we were expecting, just from the taxes alone. The valet parking was not bad convenience-wise (but was also taxed so it was about $4 more per day just for taxes), as long as we planned ahead - you could phone in your car ticket number and it was waiting for us when we arrived in the lobby. Overall, the Marriott was very nice. If I was going to Niagara again, I would probably stay there, and the bill wouldn't be as much of a shock the next time around.

We just returned from our 4th trip (8/4 - 8/7/06) to Niagara Falls and for the 4th time stayed at the Marriott Fallsview. We are a family of 5, and find it a challenge to get all of us into 1 room COMFORTABLY. We never have to worry at this Marriot. The Fallsview Family Suite is perfect for 5 or 6! We have stayed on the 15th and 17th floors, you cannot believe the incredible view! You can see both the Canadian and American Falls, and on Friday and Sunday nights the fireworks are magnificent! No fighting with the crowds, and traffic. Sit in the comfort of your room for the best possible view!

The rooms are immaculate, the furniture and decor top of the line and well maintained. The beds are like sleeping on a cloud, and the bathroom is so large I wish I had one that size at home!

There is something for everyone here. The pool, the arcade, Starbucks, the puppet show at 7:30, the magic show at 9:00, and the breakfast buffet to name a few. Although the hotel may look somewhat pricey to some people it is well worth it. Check into the packages they offer. We have booked both packages and just the room so look seriously at what you will use. For instance, if you decide to buy shuttle passes they are $12.00 CAD a piece. While the shuttle's leave the hotel every 15 - 30 minutes, getting picked up is a different story, wait, wait, wait. We found a taxi will only cost you @$7.00 CAD from anywhere in the tourist area back to the hotel. Better than the long wait and drive back for a shuttle.
Breakfast buffett is great, again price it out. We had six people, 4 Adults and 2 children this trip. Total with tax and a 17% service charge came to $128 CAD. Most packages include buffett vouchers.

The overall stay was great. The rooms with the jacuzzi and the fireplace were very romantic and relaxing. The falls view was out of this world, and during the night the colorful lights that light up the falls are gorgeous. The rooms were always clean and the location of the hotel is in the middle of everything. The service was specifically exceptional because I left some personal belongings and everything was returned to me by mail including my wallet with all the cash inside!
If you stay at the Marriott I suggest the amazing spa treatment. It was the most intense and relaxing experience and is well worth every penny.

First the good news - the view of both falls is the absolute best. You can sit at your window for hours and watch the water rushing over the falls. The rooms were spotless and the beds super comfy. We had six in our party and the cleaning staff brought us extra chairs for one of the rooms. The staff at the front desk are professional and courteous. The shuttle driver was friendly and informative. The breakfast buffet was great - lots of healthy choices and an omelet station. The staff in the restaurant was fabulous. We used the spa and it was superb!
The bad news- valet parking is a pain and expensive. Park at the casino and use the shuttle. You can get a free players advantage card which allows you to park free. You can apply for one online for pick up or get one there.
Warning, if you have 6 or more in your party they charge you 17% on top of your bill and this is not the tip. So, for our buffet breakfast we had to pay $25.00 extra because there were six of us. Our dinner in the restaurant was an experience. Three of us ordered the medium well prime rib - overpriced at $46.00. It arrived and was rare - we sent two of the back and they returned even rarer than the first time. The manager came and offered to do them one more time but by that time the other four people had finished so we told him not to bother. He gave us all complimentary desserts and didn't charge us for the three prime ribs. EXCELLENT CUSTOMER RELATIONS. Overall we had a great time and would stay at this property again. The management should however review the prices on the menu –pasta for $32 is outrageous and the fact that you have to pay a17 % service charge for six or more at a buffet is just plain ridiculous. It really deters you from leaving a big tip.

The hotel is very nice. Comfy beds, great view, courteous staff. Downside, extremely expensive. We totally blew our budget. For special occasions, I would recommend this hotel, but if you are planning a family vacation more than a few days, be prepared to shell out some cash. For the prices of the room, I was disappointed in the charge for parking + tax + gratuity (valet only parking). It was a busy weekend so the shuttle was only coming around about every 45 minutes or so. Not bad - they can't help the traffic. The restaurant was outrageous, I paid for a "package deal" and I think you can do much better on your own. 2 Adults & 2 kids for the breakfast buffet each morning was $67. The food was good but not worth $67. It's a small buffett. It wasn't worth having it wrapped up in the cost of the room (approx. $370/night). We also received the $75 for the Terrapin and ordered 2 fettucini & 2 speghetti dinners and water and the bill was $90 before gratuity. Nice hotel but BUYER beware!! Stick with the basic room and go elsewhere for food & entertainment.

We loved our 11th floor room with an amazing view. In fact, in the 3 days we were there, we found that there was no better view than the one from our room. I liked the hotel in general, but the only complaints were these : The restaurant was beyond pricey and the hotel taxes and other taxes made our dinner for two with wine come to 200 dollars,American. We were dumbfounded by the amount, made larger due to all of the add ons, perhaps 50 dollars worth along with the generally high prices.
The other thing was the practice of putting two kinds of coffee in the room,a general brand and a Starbucks. But, the Starbucks would have been 6 dollars, had we used it. And it would have made a tiny pot, good for two small cups. The general brand that was free was mechanical -tasting and undrinkable. I call that nickel and diming . A turn off and unworthy of a Marriott.

My wife, kids and I stayed two nights, Jume 12 & 13, 2006 on the 6th floor. The hotel location is excellent and the view is right down into the Horseshoe Falls. The room was very nice but the beds a tad soft as I prefer a firm bed. At $200/night it is by far the most expensive hotel I've ever stayed in. We got the package deal which includes the $75 dinner voucher for one night and free breakfast for the family both days. The dinner menu is ridiculously expensive and the food average. The breakfast buffet is excellent but not totally free since you must pay the taxes and tip of course.
I parked my car at the new casino which is a 5 minute walk north. The exit booths were not manned so parking was free but I had a players card from the casino just in case. The $20/day valet parking was excessive.
We bought the 4 tour package from tour booth outside the falls side of the hotel across the people bridge. The tour included Maid of the Mist, Behind the Falls, The White Rapids and The Butterfly Conservatory. Adult fee was $37.50 and child was $23.50. This rate was very reasonable. The one true deal at Niagara.
Be prepared to get taxed like you never believed in Canada. Hotel tax is 15%. Restauraunt Tips are disguised as a "surcharge" in hopes that the unquestioning patron will double tip.
I would definitely recommend a two night package deal at the Marriott and I'm known to my friends as "The Cheapest Man Alive".

I loved the hotel. It was very clean, and for once, every employee seemed to be in tune with what was going on. Every employee I encountered was courteous and kind, very unlike the canadian customs agent that I thought was going to start shooting when our driver asked, "How are you, dear", when she responded "First of all, I'm not your dear..." As for the hotel, every service was prompt and high quality. The only exception to that rule was the breakfast at room service (which was $53 for an omelet, orange juice, toast, and corn flakes), although it was on time. The view was absolutely gorgeous, and the rooms were very comfortable, although they jacked the prices sky high on New Year's Eve. For the view, the comfortable room, and the pleasant service, I would definitely recommend it, all the way down to the Orange Ginger Bath and Body Works shampoo, conditioner, and lotions.
However, I would seek out better food for a cheaper price. The dinner at the Terrapin Grill was highly overrated, although the food was very good, the service was incredibly slow, and my tea glass was empty only once...b/c it was never filled again. Also, generally in that area, stay away from the chain restaurants. They jack the prices up, and the servers at several of them were very slowly and rude. I do recommend Mama Mia's Italian Restaurant and Kelsey's.

Spent Sept. 4 - 7 at the Marriott in Niagara Falls. Overall we had a great stay. We are a couple with no kids and we found the location perfect. Great views of both waterfalls. Out the back door is a walk way to the tram and casino. Easy walkable distance to Clifton Hill. The hotel provides shuttle service to many locations within Niagara Falls if you do not want to walk. The city provides bus service to tourist attractions outside the city limits if you don't feel like driving.
Apon check in we were upgraded to a room with a fireplace and high level floor. Any room above the 4th floor will have great views. Don't recommend spending the extra money for the fireplace or higher floor. The fireplace is just for looks, does not produce heat and while looking out the window at the falls you are not paying any attention to the fireplace.
We did not use the Spa or pool during our stay. Having a small Starbucks in the lobby is nice but not necessary. There is a Starbucks next store and in a couple of locations in Niagara. There is a small gift store and arcade in the lobby. The lobby bar was OK. My husband enjoys drinking Guiness and they do not serve it. We recommend buying a bottle of wine or beverage of choice at a liquor store and sitting in the comforts of your room enjoying the view. Cheaper and more comfortable.
We do not recommend eating at the hotel restaurant at all.
Very expensive , poor service and poor view of the falls. Breakfast buffet just average for cost. Dinner Veal Parm = $35 USD. Quality of food is not worth it. Recommend going out the back door and next store to the Keg restaurant. Great food, good price, awesome view of the falls. Or go across the street to Cocacapana (Brazilian restaurant). Expensive . $35.00 CDN pp but it is all you can eat buffet and servers come around to your table with choices of meats. (all you can eat as well). For breakfast do not go across the street to Tony Romas. TERRIBLE! There is a pancake house across the street and down a block. Or go into the Casino upstairs to the Famous. Good breakfast and lunches for a good price.
Valet parking is extra. Parking anywhere cost alot. It is a just a matter of choice; parking is cheaper at a parking lot a block or two away. If you come and park your car for your stay and don't use it it may be better to use a parking lot elsewhere. We used our car alot during our stay and found it useful to call a head and have the car ready for us when we got downstairs. If you use Valet parking your car is not parked onsite. Marriott pays to use a parking lot somewhere else. The valet staff was excellent. They were extremely helpful and kind.
There is a tour desk in the lobby as well. They can help you with any questions but do some research prior to your trip and book your own tours or attractions. They will charge extra for them to book it. Plus a lot of the attractions within Niagara you can walk up to and by tickets. Highly recommend purchasing the Niagara park pass. It includes the Maid of Mist, Journey behind the falls , the Butterfly conservatory , White Water walk plus the tram and bus use for one day. If you have a car and want to go on a winery tour drive yourself and stop where you want. The drive is nice and easy and there are many wineries to choose from. Niagara on the lake is a great town to drive to and visit as well.
Overall we had a great stay at the Marriott. The room is very clean, spacious and comfortable. Wonderful views. A safe is provided in the room as well as a mini bar and food for purchase at a high cost. And you can purchase current movies to watch on your TV. Valet staff was very helpful. If there was not other options for restaurants we would of been very disappointed.
We would like to some day go back and visit the Niagara area and we would stay at the Marriott again.

If you choose this hotel I would not suggest booking a package. The $75 for dinner isn't nearly enough due to the over priced meals which were average at their best. Breakfast was just ok. We booked a whirlpool room. It was great. The view of both falls is wonderful. The mattress and pillows were by far the best. If you choose this hotel, book the room and eat somewhere else.

Hi there...We just got back and enjoyed a two day package at the Marriott. We stayed from Dec.21st till the 23rd. The hotel was just perfect for our needs. We had a room on the 14th floor facing the falls. ( Room 1411). Perfect view of both falls. We had a king size bed with jacuzzi and fireplace. The weather was not the best so having a beautiful room made up for the weather. We booked through the hotel website with no problems. Got exactly what we asked for and had a trouble free check-in when we arrived.
Having done my homework on this site I knew we were not going to park at the hotel. The cost would have been $20 a night. No thanks. Got our PAC card at the casino and parked free for our stay. Enjoyed a great buffet at the casino that was a little pricey. It cost $20 a person on Saturday night. Having the PAC card saved a few bucks on the buffet meal.
We paid $339.00 plus taxes for the 2 night deal. So around $380.00 altogether. We were given a voucher for $75.00 towards the hotel's restaurant or room service. The restaurant and room service are very pricey. An example of room service...$20 for nachos, $4.35 for a pop, around $18 for a fruit platter, you get the idea. The food was excellent. If it was not for receiving the $75 voucher we would have not used the restaurant or room service. Part of our package included breakfast buffet for us both for the two mornings we were there. It was really good. Big variety and very tasty and fresh. Omelettes made right in front of you, crepes, waffles, fresh fruit, muffins, cereal, toast...Everything you could think of and it was very good. The service was excellent. Now if we did not have the two complimentary breakfast buffets it would have cost in around $50 to $55 for the meal. Ouch. Too much for breakie. May have tried it once, but not even sure about that. The fact we did have it included we did enjoy it greatly and cannot complain at all. Plenty of food choices around there to pick from. Did have a lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe we could have did without. We paid alot for a burger and a few onion rings, chili and some garlic toast, two pops too. It cost about $40. The burger was from frozen and did not taste good. The rest of the food was not bad. But alot to pay and not be very happy with it.
Before we left we paid for a Winter Magic Pass online that cost around $27 and tax. It gave us cheaper admission to the Butterfly Conservatory, Birds of the Lost Kingdom (aviary), Journey Behind the Falls, and the Skylon Tower. We did enjoy each one although the weather put a damper on the Falls and Tower visit.
Our room was great. The room was decorated very tastefully and was very clean. Lots of towels and fresh ones without even requesting any. The tv worked well and was a decent size. Plenty of lighting and the bedding was very comfortable. Carpet was clean.
I have no real complaints about our stay. Check out went well and quickly. The only thing I can say that frustrated us was the valet parking. The instant they find out that your not using their services their attitudes change. Had no problems when we arrived but it was a different story when we went to leave. The bf went to pick up the car from the casino parking and when he arrived to grab myself and our stuff that's when the attitudes changed. We weren't to leave our car there unattended. They demanded our keys, which they did not receive. They were told by the bf it was just a matter of grabbing our stuff from inside and leaving. Well that didn't matter they wanted our keys. Anyhow it all ended with us getting our stuff and leaving the way WE said we would. I understand they have a job to do and even guidelines to follow but remember it doesn't pay to have an attitude or be rude.
I hope if you take a trip to Niagara Falls do consider staying at the Marriott Fallsview Hotel and Spa. We will be from now on too.

The Fallsview Marriott was a very nice property, but our room was much too warm, as were the hallways and other common areas in the hotel. Granted, I didn't ask someone to come and take a look at the thermostat, and that was my own fault. But given the fact that the hallways were extremely hot, I don't think it would have made a difference. Parking was $20.00 per day Canadian, which, I feel, is a bit outrageous, given the prices of everything else in the hotel. I am very well-versed in travel in Canada, have stayed in several different properties in Toronto, for instance, and still felt that this property was a little bit "full of itself" for what it offered. There was only one restaurant option, and the prices were, in a word, outrageous. Given that this is a tourist attraction, I can understand dinner being a bit over the top, but $18.00 for an omelette was something of a stretch. I used the Serenity Spa, which was lovely. I had a wonderful massage therapist, and it was reasonably priced, with nice amenities. The pool was very nice, well maintained. Overall, we were fairly statisfied with the trip, but I doubt we'll stay there again.

I would stay here again since it's location is dynamite and the rooms are nice. The staff service was so-so, surprising for a Marriott but maybe they don't need to give great service.

We couldnt have asked for a nicer place! View was breathtaking! Excellent, friendly service and very comfortable rooms! Our room had a separate sitting area with french doors - perfect for anyone with a snoring family member. We didnt hear a thing! We'll definitely be staying here again.

After recommendation from this site and my best friend, I chose the Marriott Niagara. On paper the hotel is perfect, directly overlooking the falls, Marriott brand, swimming pool, 2 whirlpools, in-room whirlpool (optional at a cost) etc etc. We were indeed given a good sized room on the 14th floor with a superb view of the Horseshoe falls.
Our expectations were very high for what we paid, and we believe it did not cut it for the price. Check in staff were efficient but not pleasant or overly polite, service was abysmally slow (we twice asked for something & waited over an hour), toiletries did not include bath foam (??!!!), minibar prices ridiculous, the hotel's Niagara tour package price was a rip-off, our room had adjoining door so we heard kids screaming next door, taxi booking a free-for-all and can be a long wait....small things perhaps but together they can spoil your enjoyment.
On the plus side, the pool & gym are good, with sauna & steam room and 2 whirlpools; bed was ultra-comfy; good size breakfast room with great omelette bar; excellent location with footbridge to the incline railway.
Your experience here may be better than ours, but next time we will try somewhere else and sacrifice the view for a better hotel...and almost certainly better price...

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Marriott for 2 nights Nov. 10-12. It was a perfect romantic weekend getaway. We booked the 2 night package for $499. The room was on the 7th floor and had a beautiful view of the Falls. The king sized bed was comfy, the jacuzzi heavenly and the room was very clean.
Taking advice from previous Trip Advisor members, we self-parked at the Fallsview Casino for free with our Player's card. It is only a 5 minute walk from the hotel.
The hotel lobby has a tourist info desk with helpful staff. The lobby's Starbucks is also great. The package included a $75 voucher for dinner. The food was delicious and their bread selection was impressive. We were entertained by the magician and his little tricks. In the end, dinner came to $135 including gratuities. The breakfast buffet (also included for 2 mornings) was very good. There was an omelette station, hot food and fresh fruit. The restaurant staff were always very friendly.
You must understand that Niagara Falls is an expensive town in general. But if you go with a positive attitude and some extra money then you'll have a great time. Especially if you're with the one you love.
We will definitely stay at the Marriott again.

As a Gold Elite Marriott Rewards member, I stay at Marriott properties all over the world. I stay in Resorts, Full Service facilities, Courtyards, Fairfields and even Springhill Suites. Suffice it to say I am an experienced Marriott customer.

Having read the reviews of the Fallsview, I was nervous about booking it. However, the proximity to the falls was too good to pass up. My room was great (even as a river view, I could see all of Niagara Falls), the beds were as usual- great, and the service of the staff was very nice. As the concierge lounge is closed on the weekends, I was given breakfast vouchers (uh-oh, I thought remembering the negative reviews). Breakfast was fine, the vouchers were for $55 and one voucher was plenty for three people's buffets. So, you have to shell out for tip- big deal. The shuttle service was also complimentary and VERY helpful as it was very warm out and walking to the Maid of the Mist from the Fallsview is a hike.

OK, so now for the Upsell City title. YES, the hotel does seem to try and upsell everything. From the schills at the tour desk to the magazine in the room, everything is an upsale, and its all in small print. 1. the tour desk flat out lied about wait times (they told us the Maid was a 2 hour wait, when we got there 30 minutes later we waited 10 minutes to ride), and at more than double the cost of doing it on your own should be ashamed of themselves. Use them for directions and information, but don't waste your money on them. 2. Six "courtesy" coins for the soda machines ($3 a pop), is REALLY tacky. I feel bad for the suckers who mistake it for complimentary coins. 3. $10 for the in room magazine is not only ridiculous, its sad. There were other little annoyance upsells over the weekend and it reflected poorly on the property. Now, I understand that the peak season is short and that they need to make as much as they can during this time, but again it just reflects poorly on the management.
The staff were all very friendly and accomodating. Tipping them was a no brainer- though many people we saw didn't. Keep your wits about you on the upsells and this place is a great place to stay.

I can't complain too much about the price of the room at this hotel since it was a comp room that I used Marriott points for. Nevertheless, we ended up on the end of the hall room that has a glimpse of the falls rather than a full view. Still it wasn't bad for a free room.
The bed was really comfortable and being at the end of the hall the area was quiet. We slept very well with no extraneous noise from the outside. The parking charge is steep but every place in Niagara Falls charges for parking and we found even the typically cheap restaurants in the area to be more costly than in the States or other regions of Ontario. You will pay a premium for being in Niagara Falls.
We had a lousy Internet connection and overall their high speed internet service is somewhat archaic for a higher end hotel. I was getting better wireless transmissions from the Sheraton across the street.
Nevertheless, the hotel is in an excellent location within easy walking distance of most attractions. We ate at Denny's for breakfast, which wasn't necessarily cheap but significantly cheaper than the hotel offerings and spent a little more on dinner. But beware, even the TGI Fridays nearby can set you back close to $90 just for a couple of fajitas, a beer, wine and dessert.
Overall, we had a wonderful time but it was pricy.

Should have known something was wrong when at check-in they made me initial the room number that I agree. Room 503 2 queen bedroom has trees covering the view of the horseshoe falls. Not worth its price. Perhaps ask for a higher floor to be on the safe side. Next to the tram going down to the behind the falls tour.

We went to the Marriott Fallsview Spa and Resort a little nervous after all of the bad reviews we read about the cost and parking problems. Well, rest assured it is a resort area and yes a can of pepsi is $3 in a machine, but with a little preplanning is a great place to stay. My wife and I stopped in at the local Walmart before we checked in and bought those things that make a stay just a little better. A couple of 12 paks of soda, (for our own mixed drinks) some snacks, a few candles and all was set for a prefect three day stay at the Marriott. The staff was very nice and room service good even with the cost. Our room was a two room suite with jacuzzi tub and a fantastic view of both the American and Horseshoe Falls. We feel that you do get what you pay for and for the view that we had the room was indeed worth the price.
The valet parking worked very nicely. All you have to do is call about 15-20 minutes prior to wanting your vehicle and when you get there your vehicle is waiting. Yes they do inform you of the added cost per day prior to your arrival so those who seemed shocked, I do not understand why.
We enjoyed our stay very much and can not wait until we can return.

This hotel was amazing. The staff was very friendly, including the outstanding service we received at the restaurant. This hotel was just a few minutes walk away from everything. I would totally recommend this place.. in fact, we're already planning our next stay at this great hotel

This was a wonderful experience. We had a Jr Suite that overlooked the falls. WOW what a site. Really pleased with the staff. Cable was down for the entire trip but was not important. Food was not that great in the restraurant but the service was great. Loved the location and the hotel. I was dissapointed that a Jr Suite Spa room that was $* a night did not provide robes. But all in all was a great hotel and will stay their again. Staff was wonderful and always willing to give information or help.

I booked directly with the Marriott to be sure that the two bedroom suite would suit our family's requirements (we have 4 young children). Upon arrival we found that the suite was in fact two separate rooms (no connecting door), the second being a very tiny king on the edge of the building. It in no way resembled a 'suite'
A long and protracted argument ensued at the check-in desk, with the 'manager' telling me that i could have connecting rooms for a 'much higher' price. I explained that if one of the children woke up in the middle of the night they wouldn't be able to negotiate the heavy (and locked) doors in the public corridor. He assured me they kept the lights on !!!!!!!!!!!
Eventually they did reallocate our room, but in a most surly and churlish manner - giving us the lowest floor (even though ours had been guaranteed to be above the 11th), right beside the public walkway outside, ensuring that the drapes needed to be kept drawn. We were simply too fed up to argue further.
On the second day we picked up our car from the valet and noticed that both front seats had been moved right back - a trifle annoying, but we overlooked it. Later that evening we went out again, this time the drivers seat came in the fully reclined position - lovely to know that someone had been sleeping in my car. The valet supervisor was very shifty about it, but did offer to refund the parking fee for that night.
As a final note - be careful in the restaurant - the first night we spent well over $400 for dinner for two adults, four kids. The annoying bit was that the 17.5% service charge was added half way up the check, we didn't notice and filled in the open section for service charge with another hefty tip - of course no-one pointed that out for us, maybe they're used to catching people out like that. Luckily we noticed for the breakfasts!
I definitely wouldn't stay here again - much much better is the Sheraton Fallsview next door - we stayed there two years ago and it was an altogether more pleasant experience.

It started with a phone call - the receptionist was fantastic - playing along with a surprise & following it all the way through unlike many people would have done.
Room was impecable with an amazing view & spacious enough to fit everyone without feeling cramped. Bed? it was great don't think I ever got a better sleep. Very near all locations, great for families & couples.
Would suggest this hotel to anyone who wants superb service, location & facilities.

My husband and I have just returned from a two day stay at the Marriott Falls view in Niagara Falls ont. We researched where to stay on this web site extensively. We were very happy with our stay at the Marriott!! We were very pleased with our room which was on the 6th floor. We were afraid that it was too low and if the trees had leaves it may have had some obstruction. I believe that this hotel must have the best view of all the hotels. Some of the other hotels have angles that if you are not in the right room you may not get the best view. They also appeared to have many rooms that would look into other hotels. The Marriott did not appear to have any of these faults. The whirlpool tub was great (large) and the bed extremely comfortable!!! All the furnishings were those of a higher end hotel. We did do the breakfast buffet and it was also very good. The only complaint (which really isnt one) is they have too much stuff sitting on top of the table in the room food, coffee, drinks etc. that you have to purchase. It kind of cluttered the experience with a "here we might make an extra buck." We personally would rather have a store downstairs, mini bar is ok and room service if we need something. We believe when you enter your room all that is in there is for you and part of the room. Also if you were travelling with small children you would have to keep your eye on them that they not start consuming goods.

We really didnt find Niagara or the Hotel that overly expensive it is a tourist destination. We loved walking around and found the City easy to manuver on foot. We had a great time over on Clifton Hill and at the Casino also.
Overall I would go back to Niagara and the Marriott in a heart beat!

My wife and I just returned from our 1-year wedding anniversary weekend at the Mariott Fallsview. I signed up for a package deal with a deluxe Fallsview suite (Whirlpool Tub, fireplace, etc...). Very very nice room. 17th Floor, overlooking the falls. Awesome whirlpool tub with separate shower, and romantic fireplace in the room. A safe, a refrigerator, and a king-sized bed which was very very comfortable. Thick walls, cannot hear anything outside of the room.
The staff did a superior job with everything from check-in to baggage to tour information to bringing some champagne glasses up to the room upon request.
This hotel is very nice. This hotel is also very expensive. I cannot believe how much tax Canada charges for tourism. My package, which was estimated at $486 USD ended up totaling $590 USD. This is because parking is Valet only, at $20/day, and we got slammed with Goods and Services taxes on EVERYTHING. TOTAL TAX on the room and parking for two nights was $72 CAD.
Food:
The package deal says says "Dinner + 2 Breakfast Buffets". False. Dinner is NOT included. What you get is a $75 voucher for dinner at the Terrpin Grille restaurant. This restaurant sucks. The food was overpriced and bland. The service was poor. For the prices I expected some classy service. It was comparable to that of a Denny's. Wd did not have any alcohol, and our dinner bill was $173 CAD. This is after the $75 Voucher was subtracted. Ripoff. The next night we went to the Keg Steakhouse and Bar directly next door at the Embassy Suites, and we were blown away. The restaurant is on the 9th floor with a very nice falls view, and the food was outstanding at nearly half the cost. We had the same entrees as the Terrapin, with no alcohol, and the total bill after tip was $85.46 CAD. Compare that to the crap at the Terrapin Grille ($173). FYI: The Terrapin Grille and the Keg are both owned by the same place. So my question is, why did I pay double for price for half the quality of food? SCAM.
The two breakfasts were 100% included, and they were delicious. Lots of food to choose from, very filling.
My recommendation is to not get a package deal. Go across the street for breakfast in the morning, it is cheap. There are tons of places to eat in this neighborhood, and they are not overpriced like everyone is saying. Just the Terrapin Grille.
Everything about our stay was magnificent except the price. This hotel definitely lives up to its advertisements. Like everyone else, price is the biggest concern.
If you are coming from the United States, be sure to stop at Duty Free on the way out and get reimbursed for the $40 Goods and Services tax on your hotel room.

Our room in this hotel is one of our all-time favorites - we felt like we were literally sitting IN the falls!! However, EVERYTHING in Canada is extremely expensive which impacts the fun. Wish they understood that. Parking $20 but we walked everywhere and had no further parking fees (incline is connected directly to this hotel), plus jacuzzi at end of day was luxurious on sore feet. Great deal on tour tickets at the incline. Jacuzzi room and separate sitting room with french doors had its own pull out sofa bed making the room feel more like an apartment. Beautiful.

Booked this room for my wifes birthday, expected a 4-5 star hotel, boy was I wrong! Here are some things I disliked:
1. HUGE Crack in the ceiling. Poorly patched, just made it more visible, crack was still there.
2. Couldn't see out the window, not what they showed on the website. One window is what they showed, that was different you seen the middle between the upper/lower couldn't see the falls sitting down.
3. TV was fuzzy on many channels.
4. Booked it said 8th to 16th floor, we were on the 7th.
5. The towel rack was falling off, you could see the yellow plugs from where it had been before they moved it.
6. The showerhead was about to fall off, I had to tighten it before I could take a shower.
7. Around 9am or so the tv kept going from what I wanted to watch, to the checkout procedure for some reason. I kept canceling it, and it would go back again. After a few times it quit but then later when I wanted to check out, the checkout feature wouldn't work. I had to wait in line to checkout after all.
8. The desk had crayons from a previous stay on it (the lower part). Brings up cleanliness concerns with the room as well.
9. Valet parking not only changed the radio station on my radio, but had it cranked up playing rap, a music I can not stand. I don't mind so much they changed it, though I feel they shouldn't change settings in our cars, but there is no excuse for them listening to music so loud in our vehicles!
I wouldn't recommend staying here, there are other places for less that have just as nice of a view.
