We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The location was perfect for us, with so many of the "tourist trap" things my kids (age 4 & 10) love within 2 blocks. We drove right past the lane back to the hotel/parking area the first time through because it's right on the Clifton Hill tucked between the shops. Once we knew it was next to the giant ferris wheel, we could find it easily from anywhere in the Falls area. The free hotel parking has an attendant at the gate much of the day to make sure the parking area is reserved for guests.
The falls themselves were 2 to 3 blocks down Clifton Hill. The view of the illuminated falls at night from the giant ferris wheel was amazing. There is a walking path from the parking lot to the Skylon Tower and the casinos down by Horseshoe Falls. It's a longer walk, I'm guessing half or 3/4 of a mile, but you can avoid the $10 parking fee in other areas, visit those attractions, then walk back along the falls.
The hotel itself is older, but well maintained. At our end, there was no elevator, but there were only 3 floors. We had a balcony that faced the falls. It was not advertised as falls view because there are tall trees on the hill below, so we could only see the lights through the leaves, but we could open the window or balcony door and hear the falls, and we did often.
The kids loved the indoor and outdoor pools (the outdoor has a dinosaur slide). The staff were friendly and helpful. There is no breakfast buffet, but the parking lot is adjacent to a plaza with a Tim Horton's pastry shop.
If you want a newer hotel with the breakfast buffet, you can pay a little more and go to the Comfort Inn at the other side of the parking lot. We felt we got a good deal for the price, and the location was a real bonus.

We are regular visitors to this hotel, staying every February and sometimes an additional time throughout the year. It is not a 4 star hotel by any means but is clean and very affordable. All areas (except newer lobby) are "well-loved" worn but this does not detract from the hotel's value. Employees are very helpful and considerate. The price is right. Wish it had a free breakfast like the hotel next door (Comfort Inn). We always stay poolside and need to book almost a year in advance to get these rooms. You could be very, very far away from the main drag if you don't request a closer room as this hotel is only on 2 floors and very spread out. Pool and hottub are small but adequate. Only issue is pool is always colder than it should be. Kids don't mind but adults do! Poolside is great location with table and chairs outside your rooms. Beware though that unlike the Comfort Inn these are not for just your use. Get up early and "reserve" your table outside your room daily or you will lose it and have some strangers eating outside your room-trust me, it has happened repeatedly to us. The pool side rooms are very noisy. If this bothers you and you still want to be close request a room just down either hall from the pool. Kids, particularly teens/young adults are yelling at pool area well after eleven, and you'll hear every word. Suites have door to the outside as well as the pool, which is great. Pull out sofas in HUGE suites need to be replaced as mattresses are very uncomfortable for kids. Rooms overall are very large, one of the biggest perks of this hotel. They are much bigger than next door. TV stations are very limited and remember that taxes are high here.  You are right on a very busy touristy street with this hotel. If you don't want this, stay elsewhere. Attractions here are really geared for young kids/tweens. There are no adjoining rooms, which kind of stinks.

My family's stay at the Clifton Hill Quality Inn was very enjoyable. The room was a typical hotel room, nothing fancy, but very clean. We heard while we were there that the Quality Inn is going to be replaced by Comfort Suites, so that could explain the "oldness" look to the rooms. There are two pools, the outdoor pool has 2 areas; both with dragon slides. There were two lifeguards on duty, which I have never seen before at a hotel pool. When the outdoor pool closed, one of the lifeguards would go to the indoor pool and hot tub until it closed at 11:00, which put a damper on us having a beer while we were in the hot tub. They did provide plenty of towels, for both pools. The location was PERFECT for famiies, right behind the new ferris wheel and steps away from all of Clifton Hill. Waking distance to the falls and the people mover stops. We did get the package deal which included continental breakfast at the Comfort Inn as well as a $30.00 food voucher which we used at Boston Pizza. I called the hotel directly to get the deal after I had made my reservations on line. I ended up paying $3.00 less with the package!!!! I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

Stayed in Niagara Falls for 2 nights. Two adults and two kids (6 & 8) While the room was small, the location was perfect. Right in the heart of Clifton Hill, we were close to all of the attractions the kids liked. Yet the property is set back far enough that noise from the nightlife was never a problem.
The rooms were clean and the staf friendly. There is an outdoor pool plus a kiddie pool, both with slides. There is also an indoor pool with a large hot tub.
We stayed in the 300 wing which worked out perfectly. We were close to the pools as well as Clifton Hill.
A great affordable hotel for families, or those that want to enjoy nightlife. The location can't be beat. However, if you are looking for a fancy hotel with nicer ammenities or updated decor, or to stay for an entended period of time, this probably wouldn't be your best bet.

Got a package for $309, for a Thursday and Friday night. Included two skywheel tix, $10 to Tim Hortons and $30 to Kelseys or Boston Pizza. Was pretty happy with that deal. The location is fabulous, right in the middle of the action. The pools were great, and the lifeguards were attentive and very nice! Parking was ample, not that you even had to drive anywhere...Clifton Hill is right outside the hotel!
Some reviews about the raccoons were right on. We saw a few outside our room every night...crawling into the garbage cans. We thought it was amusing. :)
Will stay here again!

The four of us booked the Quality Inn Clifton Hill for a girls weekend away. We wanted something for a decent price but soon found that you get what you pay for.
The location is fabulous and you can walk anywhere but the hotel needs a make-over and a minimum age requirement.
The first night we had to change rooms because of the group of high school kids above us and even in our new room, they were screaming down the hallways at 2am in the morning. It appeared that the hotel had one security guard for a fairly large complex...it was ridiculous.
The second night was much better because they checked out but you have to be careful with the wildlife. Even though we were on the third floor...the raccoons climb the walls and hang out on your balcony!!
I would suggest if you are going to Niagara to pay the extra money each night to stay at a nicer hotel. I loved the area we were in but maybe we will book the Sheraton across the street to upgrade our stay next time!!

As we arrived before check in, the hotel staff kindly let us place our luggage in our room; we were then free to explore the city as our car was parked and we were right in the action.
The hotel itself is divided into two separate buildings but both are essentially part of the same complex. We got excellent service at check in and they were able to accommodate our request for a quiet(er) room. The room itself was fine, nothing fancy. A good number of towels in the tidy, simple bathroom. Though we'd been told we'd be getting two double beds, we in fact got two Queen beds...hurrah!
There is a pool and a hot tub available, though when my daughter wanted to go, she couldn't because a child had polluted the water and the pool wouldn't be open again 'til 10pm, past her bedtime. The hot tub was hot and relaxing (as relaxing as it can be, filled with me and a few strangers).
With the Sky Wheel, Falls, "kiddie casino" (Children's Midway) and a lot of restaurants nearby and a park right on the premises, this was a good place to stay. The price for our room for Saturday night was $170 but went down to $70 on Sunday night...so, cheaper during the weekdays.
One thing to note re: babysitting advertised if you book through Expedia: The site says that babysitting can be arranged by the hotel but this isn't true: you'll be directed to Niagara Childcare Services to make babysitting arrangements yourself. The rate for Saturday night and holidays is $20/hour and $18/hour on other days.

I booked my stay at Quality Inn through Hotels. Check-in was very fast and somebody showed us to our room and where to park. We stayed in the 900 wing which was just 2 minutes away from the Skywheel. However, we stayed on the side facing the falls (but, there are lots of trees, otherwise you would get a great view of the American Falls). We got a standard 2 double bed room because that was all that was left. We paid $109 Thursday and $125 for Friday, the total was around $275 after service fees and taxes.
Although the hotel was right on Clifton Hill, we did not hear any noise and enjoyed a good night's sleep. But if you want to sleep in, you might occassionally get woken up by people slamming their doors or talking. For some reason when we took a shower, there would always be a minor leak on the floor, but it was no biggie. The sink is outside the bathroom, which was good because you wouldn't have to wait to brush your teeth or wash your face while someone else was using the bathroom. The cleaning service was very fast, we called and an hour later when we came back we had new sheets, and the whole shebang. The outdoor pool closes at 8pm and the indoor pool at 11pm, though we never got a chance to use it. Checkout is at 11 a.m. which I found to be too early, but that is the standard checkout time. Checkout was quick and easy. If I ever stay at Niagara Falls again I would definitely choose Quality Inn as it is close to downtown Niagara (where all the action happens). I am glad I did not choose one of the more expensive hotels near the Canadian Falls as it is quite a walk from Clifton Hill. 10 stars for Quality Inn! And I would definitely book through hotels again!

I spent one night at the Quality Inn on Clifton Hill on February 9th, and have no major complaints, especially as I only paid $58 Canadian for my room.
The staff on the front desk were excellent - very friendly and courteous, I couldn't have wished for nicer people. The young lady who did the night duty was absolutely charming. The room was fairly basic, but spotlessly clean, large, bright and airy with a comfortable bed and a nice hot shower (and believe me, it gets bitterly cold there in February!). My only complaint would be that the heater in the room never really got that hot and I had to leave it on all night to ensure that the room was warm for when I got up in the morning, which was a little noisy. I didn't use the hotel pool, so can't comment on that.
The location is excellent, being only a short walk down the hill from a great view of the American falls, then a very pleasant walk through the park to the Canadian falls - a real winter wonderland in the February snow.
Clifton Hill itself is a bit on the tacky side, but I would imagine great for families with kids. It certainly served my needs however when it came to shopping for souvenirs! There's a Golden Griddle attached to the hotel (I soon became a fan of that particular chain in the short time I spent in Canada), a Boston Pizza next door, as well as numerous other eateries on Clifton Hill, but beware, they close quite early on weekdays in the winter months. Nowhere is really that far away from the hotel, whether you've got a car or are getting around on foot. If you have got a car, the free parking that the hotel offers is a major bonus - I was also able to park very close to my room.
The Quality Inn comes recommended!

While the room was pretty basic, everthing else about this hotel exceeded our expectations. The location was terrific. Only about 1/4 block from the arcades, restaurants and general glitz of Clifton Hill, the hotel was still quiet (we faced some woods). The swimming pools were delightful (the outdoor one with the slide was bigger than expected). The breakfast was good, fresh, and in a pleasant room. And finally, the hotel staff was very responsive. When we needed a dripping toilet fixed, a new box of tisses, or anything else, the came within just a few minutes. Niagara itself also exceeded our expectations. We thought the whole area would be totally commercial. After the couple of blocks of Clifton Hill, you mostly see beautiful gardens and, of course, the spectacular falls.

We stayed for just one night this week at this hotel. Had two rooms, plus roll away beds in each room (we only had 3 or 4 people in each room, but everyone likes their "own" bed). Had four children, ages 12 and 15, grandparents and me.
Check in was fine. Pools are small but fun (only used outdoor, but saw indoor). Rooms were large with 2 queen beds each, and enough room to actually put two roll aways (not allowed) and could still get by to go to the bathroom. Everyone slept well.
Room- very very run down. Not the cleanest-stains on blanket, watch found by kids under TV stand left by someone else 9we turned in to housekeeping), tub did not drain properly, crack on bathrrom door, and other assorted marks etc that made the room appear to be quite dated and very well used. TV small (but we did not even turn it on!!).
Good points re room- we looked out onto a park, lovely. very very quiet even with window open at night. air conditioning worked well and quite quiet. beds were good, including roll aways. Efficient staff- I called for rollaways, and they were there within 5 mins or so of my call. Room was definetely on the large side given we had 2 queens, and at times 2 roll aways in the room, with a little room to still walk by.
best thing about this hotel is definetely the location. Also free parking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It cannot be beat. Tim Horton's right outside hotel basically, and all the attractions the older kids wanted to do. Falls is a short walk away.
Basically at drive up motel, with a great location.
Would stay here again. However if you are expecting an upscale hotel experience, it is not. We have stayed at the Embassy Suites in NF, and it was great, realy liked that hotel a lot (beautiful views). however the location is not good in the Fallsview area if you have kids (at least kids like mine) and the location worked very well this time given we had grandparents along as they could easily meet up with us, go back to hotel, etc. Also stayed at Hilton fallsview, and again location not so good.
This hotel was what we needed for this trip, clean enough, quiet, good sleep, and great location

Stayed here for one night on June. We were a large group - 20 of us and we all had separate rooms. It was nice that the hotel put us all in the same block.
The room is average, nothing flashy and definetely simple, 2 queen beds, a TV - with a remote didn't work, a shower where you needed to keep the cold off in order to get any kind of a "hot" shower. One positive of the room was that the window overlooked the outdoor pool, which looked nice. Whatever you do, do NOT forget a bathing suit otherwise you won't be allowed in....as we found out when my 7yr old daughter tried to get in with a pair of shorts and a t-shirt (the lifeguard stopped her). My fault, I was in such a hurry I forgot to pack it.
This hotel is definetely located in a good spot. All the attractions and the falls within walking distance.
Overall I wasn't overly impressed with this place and wouldn't stay here again. The hotel's location is its best feature.

Was the greatest everyone was so friendly and helpful. The motel was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. From our window we could see the sky wheel and it also looked over the pool and play area for children. We also loved the fact that we could walk everywhere on clifton hill and also was a 5 minute walk to the falls it was a wonderful place to stay and I would recomend this hotel to everyone for price and cleanliness big plus Tim Horton's is right there so close. It is a great place for kids as our 4 year old loved it so much he was calling it his home by the time we left!

My familiy and I just got back from Niagara Falls. We stayed on 4th. The location is great. No need to use your car with the exception of going to the Aero Car Whirlpool. The room was okay. Clean and comfortable.

But the problem...  need major makeover... The stairs will broken. There was loose gravel over the stairs due to the fact few steps that were broken. The rails are definte dangerous. My youngest daughter can easily slip through the rail. The building definetly has not been maintained properly. The indoor heated pool was freezing. We lasted like 1/2 hour in it. We also noticed the raccoons. One got very close to my husband, my 4yrs old & 7 yrs old. Later in the day I spotted one on the stairs and one of the workers were taking pictures of the raccoon. Hopefully they clean out and disinfect the outdoor pool. It was totally disgusting. It looked like swamp water. Apparently the pool was never covered. For about the same amount of money, I would have stayed at the Comfort Inn, which is a big difference and they provide you with complementary breakfast. Unfortunately, it was booked. Next time would stay in the Comfort Inn. The front desk was very friendly and helpful. I requested an iron and hairdryer and one of the employees came quickly with them to our room.

This Hotel is in a great location for families or couples. It is pricey but worth it as you don't have to get back in your car the whole weekend. If you really want a treat for the family, book a poolside room. We had a great time as we were there with a group and once the kids were in bed we could sit outside the room by the pool & hot tub. You have to book these rooms quite a bit ahead of time.

In June we took our family to Niagara Falls for a mini family vacation and to do all the "cheesy" tourist stuff. Thank goodness our hotel was the best value on Clifton Hill. We stayed in the 500 series rooms and was worried about the noise from Clifton Hill but had no problems. The lights were beautiful from the Sky Wheel which is now located right in front of the hotel and easily blocked out with the heavy curtains. The room was very clean and large, beds very comfortable and it was so inexpensive. Best part was that it was within walking distance from everything. Thank goodness for that because we spent a small fortune doing the activities on Clifton Hill. Word of caution- food is very expensive, attractions, very expensive, but the kids loved it and that's all that counts. Best part for the adults and kids was our trip on the Whirlpool Jet Boats.

Last week my wife and I took our 9-year old son to the Quality Inn Clifton Hill for a quick two-night three-day getaway. I found the Quality Inn through a link off the Clifton Hill Website and booked what was called the "Summer Attractions Package". The package included - 2 nights accommodations, large pizza at Boston Pizza, Breakfast for 2 people each morning, 20 tokens for the Great Canadian Midway, & 3 combo passes for attractions next to the hotel. I was very pleased with what was included with the package but am not sure if it really offered any cost savings. The package includes two-double beds but they offered me a 2-queen bed room since I made reservations so far in advance.
The location of the hotel is excellent for anyone looking for the cheesy attractions side of Niagara Falls, Clifton hill is where you want to be. Our 9-year old loved it there but seemed overwhelmed with all the choices. I can't tell you how many times I heard the words "I wanna go in here!..." Someone trying to do everything will quickly learn that there isn't enough time and also there is lots of junk you just don't want to go to. For those who can get away from the kids, the Niagara Casino is only a block away if you are into gambling a bit.
The best deal that we found was the Niagara Falls and Great Gorge Adventure Pass. This gets you tickets to ride the Maid of the Mist, Journey behind the Falls, White Water Walk, and entry to the Butterfly Conservatory. You also get free bus travel for one day to all parks locations. The entrance for the Maid of the Mist is a few blocks from the Quality Inn and the Journey behind the Falls is 10 minutes walk further toward the falls. We found it best to break those attractions up into different days we were there and then use the bus pass on our last day for the sites out of the area. All of the sites had lots of great photo opportunities and were great things for our son. The free parking at the Quality Inn is great with this package since you really don't need your car.
I had two problems with the Quality Inn Clifton Hill.
First, they promised me a Queen-size bed and gave me a double-bed. I am 6-foot 4-inches tall so I typically need a King bed to keep my feet on the bed, but the Queen bed I was offered should have been fine for my wife and I. The double bed didn't cut it and they Quality Inn could only tell me the Queen room offered was "just a request" and that the Double-bed room was all they had. I dealt with it, but didn't sleep well at all.
Second, the Free Breakfast at the Golden Griddle was awful! We decided to upgrade our free breakfast to the buffet and it was disgusting. We were offered fresh eggs and pancakes instead and they were bad too. I'm not sure if it was just a regional thing and how the food was prepared. We were not happy with the food, but the restaurant made good on honoring our free breakfast vouchers. Great customers service there, bad food.
Everyone at the Quality Inn Clifton Hill was extremely nice and the room was immaculate. Nothing too fancy, but really clean. The pools were good for the kids and always had plenty of towels for use.
Overall, I liked the Quality Inn Clifton Hill and will probably stay there again. I will most likely stay away from the packages and just book my room with them.

We just got back from Niagara Falls--June 14-15--and just loved the Quality Inn on Clifton Hill. We had a second floor room at the building farthest back from the street but it was still very convenient and we didn't hear any noise from all the chaos on Clifton Hill. It's an older facility but they really seem to be keeping it up, and the housekeeping staff was very friendly and responsive.
My boys, 7 and 9, loved the outdoor pool that was right across the parking area and the indoor pool was great when it started raining on the second day. We booked the 2 night special for $191.00 Canadian which included 2 breakfasts for 2 and a $25 meal voucher. My husband felt that the breakfast bar at the Golden Gridle wasn't worth the money since the eggs seemed to be packaged and the sausage had alot of filler but the kids were happy with all the choices and service was good and fast.
Most of all we loved not having to move the car once we parked. There was a ton of stuff to see within easy walking distance and we didn't have to mess around driving around all the other pedestrians.
I highly recommend the Quality Inn for the price and location, especially for families.

I have been staying at this hotel for about 30 years. Took my children there and now I am taking my children and grandchildren (we had 4 rooms this year). The location is terrific. The outdoor pool is the best in the area, but unfortuately, this year was our last year. For the last two years, if we walked across the carpet our socks were filty. In fact, I covered the floors with bath towels this year so we would not have that problem. All four rooms had the same problem. Too bad, after over 30 years (it was a Holiday Inn years ago) I must say I will miss the old place. Summary: Filthy floors, best pool for children in the area. Rated two star only becasue of location and pool. Hotel has deteriorated to minus 4 stars
