Nice staff, helpful at all times (even 2 am). The pool isn't too deep though... only 5'5'. There is also a baby pool, which makes this hotel a perfect place 2 stay with family. Most rooms have 2 twin beds, which gives you an opprotunity to take a pet, your kid, or just to kick your husband on that extra bed if he gets drunk and starts snoring ;) . Other motels and hotels that are few meteres closer to the falls charge much more for nothing. This place is great, just as I expected it to be. It looks both nice on the inside, as well as on the outside.

My husband and I stayed at The Diplomat Inn this summer. We had a Jacuzzi Suite which we both enjoyed immensely. While it is true, this hotel has no amenities it was well worth the price we paid. We decided to stay here because we wanted to have more money to spend enjoying our stay in Niagara Falls. This hotel is a short drive to the Lundy's Lane tourist area which I HIGHLY recommend. We had an excellent breakfast for 2 for under $15. If you are looking for luxury and abundance then don't stay here.

I would strongly recommend to anyone to stay away for this establishment. They are extremely unprofessional and run a rundown operation. I called in advance to make reservations and when we arrived at 3pm there was on one there the office was locked and the parking lot was empty. After finding an open door we entered the office and waited for a half hour. No none came. We tried calling them so they would not bill our credit card and the phone did not eve have an answering machine. I believe they are using a cell phone as their main phone. Later in the evening after staying at the Comfort Inn in the middle of Clifton Hill which I would strongly recommend we wound up walking by the Inn while walking around and saw there was on one there and no lights were on. Not even the Sign! This place is very odd and I would not trust this mom and pop operation (at best) any form of Identification. I believe they will rip you off and do god knows what with your credit card and personal information!

It was very pleasant. The room was very clean and spacious. They provided all amenities that any small hotels, motels should do, like clean towels, tv, hair-dryer, and even a crib for a baby. :) The location is just great. It sits in the middle of the falls and Clifton Hills. You can walk to the falls, casinos and tourist areas but the hotel location itself is quiet and not crowded. The staff there are very nice as well. How nice? They even drove us to the VIA rail station instead of letting us take the taxi. Highly recommended!

Before going to Niagara Falls, I made a reservation for a 4-night package at the Diplomat Inn. The room was very clean. The lady at the reception provided us with a fridge. The hotel is very close to the major attractions and their people were very courteous. I highly recommend the Diplomat (excellent rates for such a location).
The only problem that you might encounter in Niagara is the exceedingly expensive restaurants (for a very low food quality).

Our check in was hassle free, and very nice. Our room was CLEAN. I had remembered reading the reviews here, and purposely looked for mouse droppings, bugs, etc. NONE!!!!!!!! No, this is no Hilton, but when you are looking for a clean room, and friendly service... at a VERY reasonable price (because 1. You are going to be spending MUCH more time out and about. and 2. Because you'd rather save some money so you have the money to do the various things there are to do at Niagara Falls) then this is the place. The water in the bathroom was hot, and the pressure was excellent. Lots of clean towels. And I was very glad to see a hair dryer (I forgot mine). The TV worked just fine. (heh, we only spent about 20 mins watching it). And the A/C worked great!! The location is good. We walked everywhere. Fallsview Casino is very close, and there are many restaurants nearby. Clifton Hill is close also. (though, I still can't stand that hill on clifton hill. lol)

I came up to Niagara Falls from Texas and came upon this place. I found my hotel room to be very large and very clean. The staff was also extremely nice to my family and me and very helpful as well. I do not know what that other guy was talking about but I am telling all my friends to stay here if they go up to Niagara Falls. This is a great place to stay for everyone, not just for families. If you are looking for a place to stay in Niagara Falls, this is definetly the place!

A smiling FRIENDLY fun Joanne greeted me at the front desk.
Location: 7 minute (safe) walk to NEW casino.
9 minute walk to FALLS (just past new casino)
12 minute walk to top of CLIFTON HILL (opposite direction of NEW CASINO)
15 minutes to CASINO NIAGARA (bottom of Clifton Hill)
This hotel is a MOM & POP type hotel that does there best to keep up with repairs.
3 floors NO ELEVATOR
ROOMS: CLEAN --NO FRILLS,NO BUGS...the quality is about 2 stars..CLEAN but not CHAIN like style
STAFF: TERRIFIC! FRIENDLY & Helpful. FOR the PRICE it was worth the stay.Personally I prefer to stay closer to CLIFTON HILL so I would recommend the Imperial at the top of Clifton hill or the Brock Plaza at the Bottom of the hill. They are a little nicer quality, but slightly more expensive.

We needed a hotel for an overnight stay in Niagara. Found good reviews for the Diplomat and great price. The hotel was clean, tidy, the beds were comfortable. Everything worked. There were no luxuries, like fancy shampoos, in room coffee makers etc., but everything you needed was there. There was a coffee machine in the lobby. The staff was very pleasant and we were made to feel at home.
It was easy to find, right on Stanley at Ferry. We would definitely return.

The best thing the Diplomat has going for it is its proximity to the Falls. It is a modern building with clean rooms. There is no elevator in the hotel, so request ground floor if stairs/carrying your baggage is an issue. Nice big TV with remote. Only had 7 or 8 channels, and no free movies as advertised as their satelite was "knocked out a few days before" our arrival and the guy had no idea when it might be fixed. Ice machine is located on the second floor. Our "non smoking room" had a slight scent of smoke, and I found a clean ash tray in the drawer. Free parking. Kids loved their pool which is right next to the sidewalk/street. I booked on the internet. The rate was $59. I called the hotel directly, the rate was $69. When we arrived, the rate on the light up sign outside was $49!
There is a Dairy Queen right on the corner, and a 7-11 across the street from the DQ. The Impala motel is to the left (no curb appeal there). The Econolodge is right across the street from the Diplomat. Niagara's  hotel Doubletree is Across the street to the right. On the same side of the street is the Clarion President.
If you turn left at the DQ, you are on Lundy's Lane. A short 5 minute drive, and you will pass a No Frills grocery store, McDonald's, Tim Horton's and many places to eat breakfast including a cute little place for breakfast in the shape of a space ship. There are a myriad of motels on Lundy's Lane.

If you are looking for a no frills, inexpensive hotel (if you have a reservation), then this is the place for you. It is clean, safe, affordable, and above all convenient to everything near the falls. We made our reservations through Niagarainfo.com.

Although you can't see the falls from the hotel property, it took us less than 15 minutes to walk to the park opposite American Falls, and from there the Horseshoe Falls was only a few more minutes away.
The hotel property itself is well-kept and quiet. There is an outdoor pool which is unheated. It is surrounded by other hotels and a small church. Souvenir shops, a convenience store, and several restaurants are located on the same block.
The room was comfortable but not fancy--no fridge or microwave, no coffee maker--but we weren't planning to spend much time there anyway. Everything was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the water pressure in the shower was great. Be careful however, the temperature in the shower drastically changed several times during our shower.
Parking is free. I think they charge for local calls, but we never used the room phone.
Overall our experience was great and we would gladly stay at the Diplomat Inn again
