We spent the night of August at the Bonaventure and I think it's the cleanest motel or hotel I've ever been in. It didn't have that musty "motel" smell either, which I hate. Even their public restroom was really clean. The staff was business-like, but friendly. The hotel was quiet and we never even saw another person on our floor. We had breakfast in their little restaurant and it was quite tasty yet inexpensive because of the exchange rate. The hotel is away from the busy tourist area of the Falls, but it's not far to drive there if you want to. We actually were in town to see a concert in Buffalo, which took us about a half hour or less to drive to. You won't be sorry if you choose to stay here.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights (checked in July 9th at 2pm and checked out at 11am July 12th. We called the hotel directly and it was $119/night for a queen sized bed & square jacuzzi (in the room). The jacuzzi was so big and very comfortable. The bed was a little soft and the pillows are thin. But, we brought our own pillows so that didn't matter.
It was really hot when we were there and the air conditioner worked great. The hallways of the hotel are not air conditioned but that didn't matter to us because we didn't hang out in the hallways.
There is an indoor and outdoor pool. We used the outdoor one because the weather was great. The water was a little cold but because of the heat we didn't mind. Oh and it is in the middle of the parking lot so there is not much of a view. The good thing is that your not visible to people driving by on the main road (only the people parking). We didn't try the indoor pool but we went to look at it. There was also a hot tub but we didn't try it out because we had one in our room.
The hotel has movies and video games that you can rent. We decided to rent a movie one night and I think it cost us about $12 or $13.
There is a restaurant that is open for breakfast only. The breakfast was good. The staff were friendly. There are a lot of restaurants near by. There is a coffee shop just a few steps away.
The rooms were clean and they cleaned it every day. The bathroom had a stand up shower and no tub probably because we had a giant tub right next to our bed.
There is a public transit pass that you can buy $6 for an adult all day pass. We drove down to Cliffton Hill and parked at the casino for $10 and just walked around.
All in all I would say it was great for what we were looking for - a romantic get-away. If you are looking for a middle-of-the-road kind of hotel then this place is great.

They refused to honour our reservation because we had a small dog, even though their website stated they accepted pets. They offered no assistance helping us to find another hotel on this very busy holiday weekend and the ignorant "manager" behind the desk insinuated some very nasty things as we were leaving the hotel. They have been reported to Niagara Falls Chamber of Commerce and Better Business Bureau as well as the online service we used for booking.

We just returned from a two night stay at the this hotel. I had booked after reading recommendations here on Tripadvisor. While the hotel is clean and the staff friendly and accommodating there are a few problems which made our stay uncomfortable.
For starters, the elevator smelled so bad that I had to hold my breath while using it. I think it was some cleaning solvent or disinfectant. Lordy did it ever smell bad .. ! Other guests made comments about the smell too. I eventually thought to spray perfume in it before I could use it.
Second, the hallways are not air conditioned and they were like a sauna. Speaking of air conditioning ... the air conditioning in the room was so forceful that I ended up with an ear ache from the cold air blowing on my ear all night, and our bed was on the other side of the room. It was 30 degrees Celsius outside and we needed the air conditioner on.
Thirdly, the bromine in the hot tub was so strong that it reduced the print on my husband's bathing suit, tarnished my silver ring and was so strong that even after two showers we could still smell it on us. As well, the pool water was too cold; we could not use it. Had the water been warmer we still could not have used the pool as there were six kids using it one night and they were screaming, diving and doing cannonballs into the pool. We are in our 60's and would have been fearful of being hurt. The sauna though was very nice.
Would we stay there again ... No, I doubt that very much. It was reasonably priced and clean and the staff was friendly but that's all it had going for it.

We were returning from a very elegant, pricey stay in Toronto and wanted to stay a night at the Falls. Having read all the horrible reviews of the big Niagara Falls hotels, not to mention the outrageous prices, we decided to book a night at the Bonaventure, after all, it was only for a night. Our rate was $109 CDN. Well, we were not disappointed with our choice, it was fine. The hotel is basically a three storey motel with a part that has doors opening on interior corridors or balconies. We had a two queen bed unit on the second floor, balcony entrance. The room was large and clean, if dated. The room had no musty or old odor. The bathroom was dated, but spotless and had an additional sink and vanity in the room, which was helpful for our family when dressing. The air conditioning worked perfectly and was much appreciated since it was about 95 degrees outside. Free ice was available. The room did not include microwave or refrigerator. The beds were clean and I would say about medium comfortable. The room next to ours had three queen beds in it and still looked quite large, so if you need that much room you can get it here.
The indoor and outdoor pools were very clean. The front desk help was very friendly. The lobby had many, many brochures and maps from which to choose. Although still in the commercial area of Lundy's Lane, the hotel and the businesses around it were much quieter than the madness on the other end of the lane near the falls, which is more like a midway atmosphere with people running around screaming all night. This end is better for families. We got a good night's sleep.

This was a great hotel. Very Very clean!!! This hotel was much cleaner than the Hampton Inn we stayed in at another city in NY on our trip. My daughters liked the Hotel Bonaventure much better. The sinks and mirror were a little worn, but it was so clean it didn't really matter. It was also a big plus having a sink and mirror in the bathroom and one outside of the bathroom. Made getting ready with 2 teens a whole lot easier. The room was also a good size and the parking was free.
The staff (both maids and desk clerks) were extremely helpful and nice. We left a tip for the maids and requested extra towels each day and they left a nice thank you each time.
There was a designer outlet very close by. We had fun shopping there.
I'm glad we didn't stay close to the falls as it was very congested with traffic and hard to find a parking space.
I definitely would stay here again. It was a great value.

We have stayed at three different places in Niagara Falls, Ont., this place would have be be rated #1 of the three, the people running the hotel were very friendly and the rooms were very clean and well kept, the cost was the lowest yet for a 5 day vacation (less than 250 in American money) we were very pleased with our stay and would not hesitate staying there again in the future. The falls were about 2 miles away but everything else was very reachable (Wal-Mart, Dollar stores, Malls and Bingo hall,we loved the location.

This property was extremely clean and well maintained. Our room was large with basic amenities. However the best attributes were the hotel amenities (pools), location, and value. Although located 2.5 miles from the Falls, we felt it was the best location. It's in a very quiet area - away from all of the congestion - with great shopping and restaurants nearby. I must also recommend the Lido Market for breakfast, just down the street. The food was delicious and it has a shop in the front with some unique gifts and you get 15% off purchases when you dine there.

I would like to write a quick review on the Travelodge Bonaventure. I chose this hotel after doing my homework here on Tripadvisor based on what I read about the cleanliness and affordable rates. My boyfriend and I arrived at check-in and the front desk clerk was very polite. Our room was great! Not outdated and extremely clean- most important. Got settled and went down to the front desk to inquire about the attractions nearby. The same clerk we checked in with was very helpful. The indoor pool was also nice and the outdoor pool looked nice (we would have used it if it was in season!) The location of this hotel is good- only 2 miles from the falls. I would definitely recommend the Travelodge Bonaventure and will stay there again on my future trip(s) to Niagara Falls!

We just stayed there June1st-3rd. It was our romantic weekend getaway. We booked the heart shaped jucuzzi suite. The place was clean and the staff was friendly. We didn't use the pool but it looked really clean, and the breakfast (although not included) cost us less then $15 for 2 of us and was really great. If you're looking for a place at the falls that isn't right in the heart of cliffton hills, this is it!

We recently returned from a 3 night stay at Travelodge Bonaventure. Four adults and two children in a room with three queen size beds, refrigerator, cable tv, air condition (worked great) clean floor, beds, bathroom and shower/tub. We also had another group with us that stayed in a three queen bed room. There was plenty of room, the staff was friendly, the restaraunt on the property was a great place for breakfast. We had a 9 month old, 3 year old, 10 year old, and 16 year old that loved the pools. The indoor pool was exceptional with plenty of room for numerous people, a hot tub and sauna room, with changing rooms nearby. The outdoor pool was right outside most of the rooms. Landscaping and buildings were neatly taken care of. I would definitely consider staying at this hotel again and would recomend it. It was a direct shot to everything as it allowed us to swing around the back way towards MarineLand to park near CirqueDeNiagara for cheaper parking at Rapids Point parking which included free people mover shuttle to falls attractions. The only problem I had was the wireless internet was not accessible from rooms in the back building. I had to use my computer in the lobby or indoor swimming pool area.

There are several points that one looks for in a hotel such as cleanliness, polite staff and vale for money. This hotel has it all. My wife & I are English but live in the USA and we have just returned from a few days sightseeing in the area and after reviewing many hotels on TripAdvisor decided on the Bonaventure.
Why? OK it had reviews that were good which is an indication. But it was the fact that it is located outside of the 'crazy' area of Clifton Hill (fine if you like the noise & lights) and it offered a continental breakfast (coffee, juice, toast, bagels & cakes), a heated indoor pool, a sauna, a hot tub (all very clean) and provided the towels.
The room was clean and tidy with a coffee machine and large TV. The bathroom was adequate with two sinks and a great shower over the bath.
The reception area was full of information and the receptionist that greeted us was very polite (as were the other members of staff that we encountered) and helpful.
It was quiet (yes we were off the main season) and slept well on the bed. The Bonaventure was not a swanky hotel with fancy fittings and uniformed staff but I was not paying US$150 per night however it was a pleasant hotel to stay in.
The only negative was that the towels were small (even for my wife who is only 5'2" and slim) but am I really complaining when I paid only US$49 per night...I need my head examined.
