My husband and I stayed at the Travelodge Clifton Hill from June 13 through 16. It was our first visit to the falls. It is a clean, safe, and moderate price hotel. I would stay there again mainly because of the convience to the falls. You are just 1 block from the falls (view of the American Falls). You are in the heart of the travel area - family entertainment area.
As I walked around the area, we were definitely happy we choose this hotel because of the location and cleaniness. The hotel is tucked from the road so you have some privacy. It is one of the closer hotel to the falls.
The hotel was not fancy but clean. I felt safe staying there. The room wer a perfect size. The shower area is separate from the sink/mirror area. However, there is no safe or microwave in the room. The staff was also friendly.
The breadfast , included in hotel price, was nothing fancy but it was fine. Fruit, toast, bagels, juice, and coffee. I recommended not waiting until the last minute to eat. We showed up at 9:15 one morning (served until 9:30). There was less food to choose from.
Ruby Tuesdays is next to the hotel and is a good place to eat lunch or supper. We ate there twice because we liked it that much and it was close. You are also close to Wendy's and Burger King.
The hotel also has an outside pool. Moderate size. Again nothing fancy but it was clean.
A closer view of the Canadian fallsis ia about a few blocks away. It was not too far. Closer to the Canadian falls are the fancier hotels (Hilton, etc). This is the area where you will find the fancier restaurants and shopping. However, the price of the hotel is twice as much.
If you are looking for a moderate price hotel which is clean, safe and close to the falls, I recoommend this place.
You may want to ask for a room towards the back. This is where we stayed because you are further away from the street. We did not hear any traffic.

The best thing about this hotel is that it is close to everything. Even though it is on busy Clifton Hill you couldn't hear any noise from our hotel room.
We made reservations six months in advance with a senior citizen rate and they gave us the top (3rd) floor far from everything. You would think booking so far in advance and being a senior citizen they would have given us a room on the 1st or 2nd floor. The worst thing was that there were no elevators and it was very difficult to bring our suitcases to our room or even return to our room after a long day of walking the hills of the Niagara Falls area.
The room itself was horrible - the view from the window was a cement wall, the air conditioning did not cool the room enough for a hot August day, and the carpets were stained and had burn marks for a non-smoking room. The pool itself was okay but the pool area was a mess and half of the furniture was old and broken. The breakfast that was included was okay if you like cereal and toast. The friendliest hotel staff member was the elderly gentleman who was the parking attendant, the others just seemed as if you were bothering them.
This is definitely not a hotel for people with health problems or the elderly - remember no elevators. Spend a few extra dollars and stay at a hotel that you can REALLY enjoy!

I went to the Travelodge with my boyfriend for a night and it was such an awesome place to be. We had so much fun there. The hotel/motel itself is plain, but nice for a motel and it was pretty cheap. I think it was $140.00 for the night Canadian. We arrived there at about 9pm and they were very helpful finding us a room. After we checked in we went to the room, had a few beers and then ventured out on to the strip. The hotel was in a perfect location, a 2 minute walk to everything. We went to the falls, in some hauted houses and on some rides. It was so much fun and the best part was that we could walk to everything. It is so busy to drive anywhere so I would recommed that you plan to walk most places. This is a great place to stay if you want a cheaper hotel in a good location.

Great location and clean, comfortable room. Check-in was quick and easy. The staff was always friendly and helpful. We could walk out of the hotel's (free) parking lot and see the falls only a block away. Although the hotel sells parking to non-guests, we never had a problem finding a spot for ourselves. The hotel is located on the busy Clifton Hill St. but we were glad to have so many attractions, stores, and restaurants at a walking distance. When we arrived we were afraid it was going to be noisy but the room was quiet. The free breakfast buffet is a plus, unless you get tired of eating the same stuff. We had bagels, toast, fruit salad, cereals, waffles, juices, and coffee.
One final note, please do not confuse this Travelodge with the Triftlodge. They are next to each other but they are not the same. So if you want to get your rest and be in a central location you will like this place.

Wow! Great experience with Travel lodge and Clifton Hill!
A group of us, 8 women in total, stayed for 2 nights (Sept 15 & 16)in the Family Suite.
We were all very impressed and completely satisfied with our room and ammenities....lots of towels, dishes and cutlery available for our use within the kitchen, plus full fridge, stove, microwave and dinette table. Lots of room for all of us. This hotel was the ONLY ONE in Niagara Falls that would allow for all 8 of us to stay in one room.
There were NO HIDDEN FEES...price was as quoted upon checkout. Parking FREE as stated, even after checkout, so that we could finish some last minute shopping.
Located in the hub of all the "action", which is extremely convenient, and surprisingly quiet in the evening from our room.
Fireworks from the Falls could be seen from our balcony on the 3rd floor. Breakfast simple, yet satifying (go early)!
Check in and check out were simple, easy and fast. Curtious service throughout, and hotel facilities very clean throughout.
Thank you Travel Lodge on Clifton Hill...We'll be back!!

The Travelodge Clifton Hill is a wonderful hotel. The location is ideal! It is in the heart of Clifton Hill. The rooms are extremely nice and the packages they offer are very efficient. If you are looking for an extravagant trip with spa treatments and views of the Falls, you may want to rethink this hotel choice. If you're looking to be within walking distance to restaurants (Ruby Tuesdays is literally steps away), the Midway (games/arcade) and the Falls, this hotel would be great. I think the Travelodge Clifton Hill is an excellent hotel for a family because of the location, price, meal and attraction vouchers. It is also great for those who want to be in the limelight of Niagara but don't want to spend a fortune doing so. Definitely, walk to the Beer Garden for some pizza, drinks and some karaoke laughs. Have a great trip!
